When you upload a PDF with multiple pages to Countfire, you'll be presented with two options:

  • Option 1 - Download zip file (recommended)
  • Option 2 - Import into discipline

Which option you choose, depends on your project, and the type of work you do.

Option 1 - Download zip file (recommended)

This option is generally recommended, and will result in all pages being extracted from your multiple page PDF file and saved separately as individual PDF files.

Then, a ZIP file of all the individual pages is created, and downloaded to your computer.

You can then take the relevant individual PDF files, and upload them to separate disciplines within Countfire.

In the clip above, you can see a PDF file with multiple pages being uploaded, and the two options presented.

The file contains drawings that should be uploaded into separate disciplines (EG: lighting, power, fire & security) and so the decision is made to download them as individual PDF pages.

Then, those individual pages are uploaded into their respective disciplines.

Option 2 - Import into discipline

This option will result in all pages being extracted from your multiple page PDF file and imported directly into the discipline they were uploaded to.

This option is useful if you have a single set of PDFs for the entire project (EG: electrical), and you only require a single discipline.

In the clip above, you can see a PDF file with multiple pages being uploaded, and the two options presented.

Because the file contains only pages that belong in a single discipline (EG: electrical) the decision is made to import all of the extracted pages into the discipline they were uploaded to.
